Co-Investigator

Dr. Shaikh Ziauddin Ahammad is an expert in wastewater treatment engineering, environmental surveillance and molecular biological methods, especially to improve water quality by mitigating against both diffuse and point-source pollution in the environment. His recent work has focused on quantifying key sources of AMR in India and potential treatment solutions for AMR reduction in urban environments and wastewater releases. His team is also working on protecting our water bodies with the collaboration of partners from UK, USA, Netherlands, Germany, Brazil and China. His team is developing a ‘pollution-map’ of major Indian rivers by estimating different PPCPs, other emerging contaminants, ARB and ARGs.
